Brandon Alexander III has been editing scripts and writing jokes for both television and film since 2002. Also, he has been writing his own inspirationally comedic column for international gay publications, such as XY and B Magazine, since 2004.Taking a step out of the shadows and trying his hand at his first feature film script comes First Period, a film about two teenage girls who may be outside of the box and the "cool crowd" but they'll do whatever it takes to get in. Always with an inappropriate joke or offense sight gag, First Period is destined to be a cult classic… or horrifyingly offending everyone and Brandon will never work in this town again. Brandon is also the winner of the 2013 Long Beach QFilm Emerging Artist Award.
Dudley Beene spent the past six years being the "go to" promo and joke writer for daytime talk shows: working daily for Kelly Ripa, Ellen Degeneres and the ladies of THE TALK. Angelinos may recognize him from onstage performances as Hedwig from HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, Blanche from WOMEN BEHIND BARS, and the libidinous bear [the woods kind, not the Silverlake kind] in A FAIRY'S TALE. You can soon see him in the upcoming GIRLS WILL BE GIRLS sequel as well as several History Channel documentaries they keep re-running… one's probably on now.
Born in the "studio zone", Charlie Vaughn has been on film sets for the past 20 years. His first feature, Vampire Boys, became an instant camp classic and is one of the top rated shirtless vampire movies of all time! Summer 2012 will see the festival run of Saltwater, starring famed "out and proud" Australian Rugby player Ian Roberts and Ronnie Kerr, a film that shows the heart and emotion intergenerational friendships of gay men. First Period is nothing like that and will probably offend a lot of people… with heart and emotion.
New girl Cassie and school outcast Maggie are easily the most unpopular girls at their high school. Together, they decide the way to win the hearts of cute boys and popular girls is to enter--and win--the annual Talent Show. But rivals Heather, Other Heather, and their popular boyfriends Dirk and Brett will stop at nothing to keep Cassie and Maggie the laughing stock of the school. It's going to take courage, a make over, and maybe even a rap battle to beat them in true 80s style.
